In an already quite difficult financial situation for all players in tourism, increasingly worsened by the events of the 11th of September, Club Med has decided to start its plan of action to make up for the drastic slow down of bookings.Although it is still early to make forecasts, we're talking a 50% delay compared to last year. To try and fill in the consequent serious economical damage Club Med has decided to size down the offer of villages open in the 2001-2002 winter, therefore various villages where the booking level is judged too low will be kept closed temporarily.
However, if on one hand the world capacity of the group will be reduced as far as the sun villages are concerned, there will be a 10% increase of skiing villages with a new advertising campaign entirely focused on the snow product.
In this context after 14 years Club Med opens a new snow village in Italy, the second one after Sestrières. The three trident village will open next 23rd December in Cervinia, in a pre-existing complex, but completely restored to bring it up to Club Med standards. The restaurant then will be transformed to host the famous buffet formula, the structure will also have a Mini Club Med for children from 4 to 10 years of age and a Junior's Club Med for kids from 11 to 13.
As well as all sports activities tied into the snow, other sports will also be available, so the gym was completely restored too, for lovers of relax, fitness, saunas, aerobics or massage.
The village will be open from the 23rd of December to the 14th of April in Cervinia, Val d'Aosta, 2000 meters above sea level and 100 km from Turin.
A seven day stay in one of the 214 rooms subdivided in hotel and residence, full board (excluding transportation) costs: from 1.220.000 lira equivalent to 630 Euro per adult.
