A small island with a great atmosphere, Ventotene. Its name comes from the ancient Greek - "Pandataria" , giver of all - .The island of Ventotene has a surface extending for about 153 hectares, and it is of volcanic orgin, like the islet of Santo Stefano nearby.
The small town, of clear Neapolitan print, has white and rose houses; narrow alleys go through it and lead to the Roman port and the beautiful church dedicated to Santa Candida.
Archaeology lovers can visit what’s left of the Villa di Giulia, the daughter of Emperor Augusto, the port structures and the Punta Eolo.
Tuffaceus terraces where the rock vegetation grows, a craggy coastline, brown rocks, reliefs with the traces of lava flows, all around the blue of the sea and the voice of the wind. An oasis of peace in which to spend serene days, away from the “world”.
Ventotene is officially a Marine Park and a Natural Reserve of the State.
