The greatest pasta factory in the world is signed Barilla
The opening of what is still the greatest pasta factory in the world dates back to 1970. Built in Pedrignano, in the province of Parma, by Barilla, one of the most well-known pasta producing firms in the world. A tradition, that of Barilla, which starts in the 1800's, with Pietro Barilla's little bread and pasta shop opened in Parma, which evolved a dozen years later into the first factory.Barilla can be considered a witness of the food industry and of the evolution of customs in Italy. This is certified also by the important recognition conferred by the Ministry for the Arts to the Barilla Historical Archives, which proved to be of high historical interest: a place where the company shows itself throughout more than a century of life. After all, innovation and excellence have always been first priorities on Barilla's operations, and this tension to satisfy consumer test as well as can be is in harmony with respect for tradition: love for well-made things and using increasingly modern production systems guarantees Barilla pasta's high quality. Barilla branded pasta obtained, in 1998, the highest sold volume of its history and in the United States it made up 9% of the sold pasta.
The distinctive feature on which Barilla has always based her communication strategy is the quality of the product: pasta Barilla, obtained from the best durum wheat, is the pasta that doesn't overcook, always "al dente".
