A dog, as we known, is man’s best friend and there are more and more families and people who live with a loyal and beloved four-legged creature.Unfortunately next summer the problem arises of where to go on holiday with our pet; many hotels do not accept them, you can’t take him to the restaurant, if he shows up on the beach you’re in trouble…
Currently, as we await for a National legislation (there is a signed petition being completed by Animalisti Italiani) it is possible to access some beaches even with your dog.
The list was circulated by Peta and the “available” beaches are 7:
Antignano, along the Livorno coast: adjacent to the Pancaldi organised beach there is a dog area.
Albisola Marina in the province of Savona, near Bagni Sport.
Between Marina di Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia in "Le Marze" there is a 300 metres area where any size of dog can be brought, on a leash.
In Recanati access to a free beach is allowed near the Potenza river and nearby there is a campsite where animals are allowed.
In Abruzzo small sized dogs can be brought onto the beach in some establishments, to the owner’s discretion. The same possibility is in Rimini.
In the province of Rome, in Maccarese, the organised beach Marechiaro has set up a true and proper "bagnobau" (doggy beach)
