Arbitration and Conciliation Chambers

Often the consumer finds him or herself to be the victim of a wrong committed by a company, for example; the work of a craftsman, the travel agency who promises “marvels” that don’t quite live up to expectations, the tour operator who has omitted important details and so on.

To the end of supplying the consumer the suitable tools to obtain a possible refund, what are called Arbitration and Conciliation Chambers or of Arbitration and Conciliation have been set up, at the Chambers of Commerce of all Italian cities.

Milan has had one sicne 1986; the cases dealt with are of various nature: tourism is on top of the list.

It is true that there are many citizens who return dissatisfied from a holiday because it wasn’t exactly what the brochure or the travel agent depicted.

If they believe they have been wronged, cheated, they can refer to the Arbitration Chamber of their city and, after having heard and decided their complaints, the “peacemakers” will sit with the parties around a table and find a solution to the controversy.

The Arbitration Chambers assist both Italian citizens and those from other countries.
They are usually open Monday to Friday in office hours.
