Gino Decrescenzo, a.k.a. Pacifico, has an artistic past that starts from Rosso Maltese, a nineties band of the Milanese alternative live circle, which has touched both the film field (Sound track of the film "Sud Side Story" by Roberta Torre) and the stage's (Compositions for the show "Invece che all'una alle due" with remarkable success in 1999 in Catania's Teatro Stabile) and recently also that of radio airing (every Sunday morning on Rai Radio Tre creates a four minute musical,  a micro composition created ad hoc for the third radio station, on a different subject every week).

Pacifico is what was missing in the landscape of Italian singer-songwriters; he is the right synthesis between the world of electronic music and the deepest authorial poetry, the trait d'union which takes the songwriter into the new millennium safe from the superpower of the sounds and the trivialities of the everyday.

Gino succeeds in creating modern and original sonorities with lean guitar sounds, rhythmic sometimes round and Arabian-like sometimes to the limit of saturation, sound effects obtained both with voice and electric keyboards, but especially always maintaining very clear the architecture of every song of his, which becomes recognizable both for the tune and for the lyrics. For this he has already gained two important recognitions this year which are: the Grinzane Cavour Prize from the Recanati Prize, for the best lyrics ("My words") and the Tenco Prize for the best first work (Pacifico).

The project sees its origins in the professional meeting between Gino and Paolo Iafelice (already with Fabrizio De André and Vinicio Capossela), his current artistic producer and it concretizes when the two find an enthusiastic interest from Titti Santini (Ponderosa Music&Art) and RiccardoVitanza (Parole&Dintorni) who decide to become executive producers.

Gino's lyrics are clean and they pass as frames sometimes telling of love sometimes of adventure often existential meditation of the everyday taking it to peaks of unsuspected poetry.
