SINTONIE: a festival of feminine sounds
An initiative deserving of praise on schedule in Verona, Saturday 24th November starting at eight o'clock: a mini festival, wholly dedicated to women's music. The initiative, organised by the local section of Acli and SO cultural association, started from the idea of representing differing artistic experiences, as different as the women expressing them, each with her own original language, each with her own authentic story to tell.An extremely varied cast will therefore distinguish the rich Verona evening which will see on the stage of the Estravagario Teatro Tenda (via S.Teresa - ex Magazzini Generali - trade fair area) five artists of different origin, age and musical style, who share the quality of their work and, especially, the skill of being able to make a name for themselves without giving up their identity, on the contrary, making it a point of strength. Starting from Sainkho Namtchylak, bewitching priestess of the "throat song", a harmonic timeless experience, originating in Mongolia, Asia's navel. And precisely from Tuva, a small republic squashed between Siberia and Mongolia, Sainkho comes from. She is an artist who knows how to fuse ancestral sounds and electronic music. Mara Redeghieri, the voice of the Ustmamò, arrives instead from the hills of the Reggio Apennines: a decidedly closer universe to us. Her definitely personal artistic path, will be exalted by the choice of presenting in Verona an unusual acoustic set enriched by the presence of a strings quartet. Heather Nova, a musician from Bermuda who for years has been living in London, will take her ballads halfway between rock and folk, where she will also succeed in recreating the Caribbean's intense scents. The cast is completed by Ginevra di Marco, feminine voice of the legendary CSI group, and Valentina Gravili, a young artist who grew up listening to Tori Amos and Fiona Apple.
