An exceptional trio to give life to special music, sole heir of soul and heart, of nostalgia, sadness and at once, joy. Marco Poeta, a guitarist from Recanati, is the only Italian who has "dared", just for love and with utmost respect for tradition, to play Fado in Portugal. This gained him a promotion to "transalpine fadista", both from critics and from musicians and audience of this musical genre, which mixes African reminiscences with Arabian and Middle Eastern scents, Andalusia sensuality, Portuguese sadness. He has chosen to have two important Italian musicians next to him: Eugenio Finardi and Francesco Di Giacomo, in order to give life to work that yields warmth and cosiness.
Poeta's "guitara portuguesa", a very special instrument, built by the Portuguese exclusively to play Fado, is accompanied by the classic guitar of Michele Ascolese, who has already played on dozens of very famous artists such as De André, and the acoustic bass of Paolo Galassi, also a musician from Recanati, who has always been following Poeta in his Fado adventure both in Italy and in Portugal.
If American black people have the Blues, the Portuguese have Fado. In this context, the voice of Eugenio Finardi, great Italian folk singer, yields all its special musicality in that sweet "Balanço", as the Portuguese would say, that interprets very interesting pieces, translated in Italian and rich in "Saudade".
Songs in Portuguese are performed by Francesco Di Giacomo, legendary voice of the classic band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. Marco Poeta has already performed on tour with him in Portugal. His voice has collected countless recognitions, both from specialised critics and from Alfama's audience. Alfama is the ancient borough of Lisbon where they reckon Fado was born with Maria Severa, important Portuguese singer before the times of Amalia Rodrigues, her direct heiress. Elisa Ridolfi is the female performer and her penetrating voice transforms poetry into melody. The album is produced by Angelo Carrara and published by Edel.
