Last Sunday the fourth edition of the International festival dedicated to short films "Corto in Bra" (Cn). 58 films competing, from 15 different nations and a prize of 7.000 euro plus production services for the best script competition, a recognition which has made the Bra event one of the most appetising at a continental level. News from the 2002 edition "Slow Food on Film", the topical section dedicated to short films inspired by the love for food, made in association with Slow Food.Over a thousand spectators, important juries, headed by professionals in the world of cinema and made up by students from 7 European countries. The jury guided by American actor Vincent Schiavelli, has thus decided concerning the competing films:
Best short film of the "Short Cinema in Europe" section the French film "Peau de vache" by Gérald Hustache-Mathieu. The film tells the story of a twenty-year old, played by Sophie Quinton, who live isolated in the countryside and only has cows as friends to confide in for her thoughts and her secret.
Bets short in Italy was "Lido azzurro" of the twenty-year old director Pippo Mezzapesa narrating the tales of a family at the beach seen under the perspective of the amused fashionable youths.
Best script (granted by a jury made up of five professionals from the world of words among which writers Gina Lagorio and Davide Longo) to Andrea Battantier with "Le baiser", story of the reconstruction in a television study of the famous image of the French photographer and poet Robert Doisneau, "Le basier devant l'Hotel de Ville".
Bets short of the "Slow Food on Film" section, the Italian "Peperoni" by Giuseppe Gagliardi where the vegetable of the title becomes motif of seduction and break up of a love relationship contested in the fifties Calabria.
Special mention for "Oyster Guanaca", by North Americans Sarah Cohen and Jennifer Bishop, small cross-section of Central-American immigration into the rich United States.
