La Stampa Daily newspaper from Turin, owned by the Agnelli family, it was founded in 1867. La Stampa also has a nationwide distribution, and according to recent figures it circulates in 398.600 copies, and it naturally is very “popular” in Piedmont. Every Saturday readers are given the magazine "Specchio" free. The director is Marcello Sorgi.
|  | Il Corriere della Sera Known as THE "daily newspaper" it was founded in 1876. Editorial offices are in Milan in a building in via Solferino, in the heart of the Brera area. Prestigious signatures alternate at the leadership of the "Corriere" which is currently directed by Ferruccio De Bortoli. Il Corriere della Sera publishes 7 issues a week and has a wide circulation on the whole national territory. Figures speak of about 717.500. Thursday it is issued with "Sette" – a weekly of current affairs, culture and politics – and the TV programme guide. Saturday it publishes "Io Donna", a magazine of customs and news.

It is in the newsagent 7 days a week and the latest estimates attest it being on 646.300 copies distributed. It is the only true antagonist of Il Corriere della Sera. The editorial office is in Rome and its current director is Ezio Mauro. Friday it comes with a cellophane wrapped "Venerdě di Repubblica" – a weekly of news, politics and culture - . Tuesday it is issued with the magazine "D di Repubblica", a weekly of culture, customs and current affairs.
