On the west of the Lago Maggiore, divided between the provinces of Novara and Verbania, it gathers in a tight space a great concentration of steel transformation industries.

Great part of the Italian production of taps and kitchen steel products is distributed on the hills on the western side of the lake, and in the valley between Omegna and Gravellona Toce.

Bearing witness to the historical tradition of the tap industry, S.Maurizio d'Opaglio hosts the  "Museum of the tap and its technology ": in the surrounding area, as a matter of fact, the most famous tap industries in Italy gather, exporting into the hole world.

Between S.Maurizio, Gozzano, Pogno, and Alzo di Pella there are the companies of Zucchetti, F.lli Frattini, Porta&Bini, Cristina, Paffoni, Paini Rubinetterie, Raf Rubinetterie, Giacobini Rubinetterie, F.lli Pettinaroli, Ottone & Melodia, Cisal, Nicolazzi, Idral.

Further North, between Omegna and Crusinallo, the best of the made-in-Italy for the steel home appliance concentrates. Pans, coffee machines, cutlery, kitchen appliances and e for service on home and restaurant tables, objects of refined design, make the area an essential point of reference for the sector. Functional and necessary items, characterised by elegance and refinery typical of the Italian style.
