Great satisfaction for the positive conclusion of the project for the Siracusa-Gela motorway: for this highway line, extending 90 kilometres and with nine exits, the decree of environmental compatibility was signed unanimously by the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Arts and Culture.This is the conclusion of a complex administrative process, concerning a territory of significant historical, archaeological and landscaping importance.
The Honourable Nicola Bono, deputy minister of State for Arts and Culture, has found that there were no longer any obstacles for the beginning of the construction procedures for a good part of the authorised lots. This way the liquidity already available for this end would be used (around more than 500 million euro), the result of two allocations, among which the one that Bono himself, in 1997, determined during the financial act, which was fundamental for the reprise of activities relative to the construction of the motorway infrastructure, which should bring out of isolation the south-eastern side of Sicily.
