Called "Rosso di Sera", it is a tavern/wine shop born a few months ago in Milan close to the Università Bocconi, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, a few tables, an elegant furniture and a non-aggressive lighting. The owners, a nice couple and a smiling young man, they share their tasks professionally and competently: he recommends the wines whilst she takes care of the kitchen.
The choice includes only few proposals but of excellent quality: bread-board of mixed chesses with honey and “mostarda”, or assorted cured meats that include Feline Salami, Colonnata lard, sweet bacon, savoury raw ham, a great variety of “bruschette” prepared with slices of warm bread with pepper mousse, eggplant, melted cheese and other delicious things.
Also, savoury vegetable cakes with courgettes, leeks, or ham and cheese quiches, also a choice between one or two first courses: pesto “trenette”, rigatoni alla carbonara, minestrone alla toscana, spaghetti with pachino tomatoes and basil.
And to finish off? A delicate filled lemon cake or the “real” Tuscan cantucci.
All of it with the accompanying delight of prized wines that go with the cheeses and the cured meats, pasta and savoury cakes.
"Rosso di Sera" is in Via Bligny, 19/A – tel. (+39) 02 58.32.11.97.
