The beautiful San Carlo square, in the heart of the Savoy city, is defined the Torino "lounge" for its perfect equilibrium of dimensions and calibrated proportions.
Right in the middle of the square, the famous equestrian monument portraying Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia as he sheaths his sword after the victory in San Quintino which enabled him to reconquer the Dukedom. The people from Turin call him "Caval ‘d Brons", hence the name of the renowned restaurant which you can access from the square's arcades.The restaurant "Neuv Caval ‘d Brons" is one of Turin's historical venues since it was opened in 1943. After a time of closure it reopened in 1988.
