:: ART, CULTURE, SCIENCE :: EXHIBITS AND FESTIVALS ::
From Cą Pesaro to Morandi

Italian art between the wars "recounted" exclusively through works kept in private collections, masterpieces partly well known already next to others who are for the first time conceded to the admiration of the public.

This is the objective of "Da Ca' Pesaro a Morandi. Arte in Italia 1919 - 1945 dalle collezioni private" promoted by the Assessorship for Culture of the Municipality of Conegliano, and organised by Linea d'ombra, in association with the Assessorship for Culture of the Veneto Region. The exhibition, hosted in Palazzo Sarcinelli,  recalls and gives homage to the Veneto foundation of the early Twentieth century, Ca' Pesaro, and the major painter of our XX century with De Chirico, Giorgio Morandi.

The choice of the period is based on the idea that the so-called "return to order" that followed the first world war, was not in Italy a period of decadence in painting, but on the other hand marks the birth, according to "regionalist" Italian tradition, of many groups that elevate the quality of research, to which we can associate some extraordinary solitary personalities, of which Morandi is the absolute emblem, also according to a sense of International stature that grows from year to year.

Through 80 works, a journey through the best Italian art in the feverish and difficult times between the two wars. Also years that were the subject of a very successful exhibition in Palazzo Sarcinelli in 1990, when the microcosm of Painting in Treviso between the two wars was studied.
