For two weeks, Milan sees the return of the sixth edition of the cultural event on the sea, dedicated this year to the understanding of life, of the limitations and the human values the sea drives us to confront. With inspiring displays, among others, of the Marina Militare Italiana and the Museo nazionale dell'Antartide in Genoa.Among the great protagonists of adventure taking part in the event, the world apnoea champion Umberto Pellizzari, who explains how human beings can surpass their own limitations under the waves; Ambrogio Fogar, who tells of the experience of a man continually seeking new horizons; Falk, Austoni and Castiglioni, who clarify how their experience of sailors has changed the way they live the city. Many are the experts of the sea expected to "open new horizons": Marco Predolin and Nicola Brischigiaro, world guide of apnoea under the ice, president of ICRAM tells of the seasonal migrations of whales, a researcher of the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco tell the adventurous search on the traces of the giant squid.
The sixth edition of the exhibition hosts the video photographic competition "The sea...in your room", a competitive moment involving sea lovers and groups with videos, photographs and photomontage. "A sea of words" opens on the other hand a new chapter, dedicated to award a prize to best scientific sea information writing of the year; and the yearly prize "A life for the sea" will be awarded to the person who more than others was able to express his or her passion for the oceans.
Space to creativity for "A gaze under water", which has always been a child and kids reserved space in the city Aquarium: drawing competition, virtual lab illustrating the rudiments of underwater robotics, tub for regatta mini-regattas, exotic settings and marine landscapes for the games.
