The Italian Institute of Culture in Madrid has been, for over sixty years, the reference point for the knowledge and the development of Italian culture in Spain. Located in the Calle Mayor, int he heart of Madrid's historical centre, in the splendid Abrantes Palace, Italian Institute of Culture offers Italian and Spanish students, schools and institutions the possibility of looking up over 27.800 volumes in its library, seeing the 1.600 documentary videotapes and films and 9.700 slides and to listen to around 600 albums of the best Italian music.Also, the Italian Institute of Culture in Madrid organises conventions, presentations, concerts and exhibitions very often and with contents and appearances that are particularly important. Everything, of course, to promote the knowledge of Italian culture. Finally, also very important is the activity tied in with the Italian language courses, from beginner's concepts to interesting perfecting workshops. To attend such courses every year the Institute's classrooms see the presence of over 1.400 young people. For further information:
