Ceramics is the leitmotiv that ties in a series of events occurring between July and October in Faenza. Starting with the exhibitions presented by "Planet Faience" (Faenza’s name, translated in English and French with "faience", means majolica and prestige ceramics).In the Palazzo delle Esposizioni - "theatre" of "Planet Faience" – until the 21st of October, the Exhibition market of Faenza’s artistic-crafts ceramics is on, a true exhibition of the best of Faenza’s masters in their ateliers.
In the view of introducing places of artistic production and ancient ceramic tradition, "Faenza ospita Napoli", a review of artists’, designers and craftsmen’s works, from the city of the Vesuvio.
Faenza is also the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, a museum entirely dedicated to the ceramics-universe. Ten thousand meters squared of surface hosting masterpieces for all ages, and from five continents. The Museo di Faenza is the largest in the world and it is also an important research and documentation centre (50thousand volumes from the Library, 20 thousand images of the Phototeque, a restoration workshop and one called "Giocare con l' Arte", born form the project of great designer Bruno Munari), as well as a polyhedric container of events and happenings dedicated to ceramics.
