The first objective is the Castello di Avio in Sabbionara d'Avio, in the province of Trento. It is one of the most suggestive castles in Trentino, donated to FAI (link) in 1977. Already existing in 1053, it still keeps a large part of the original structures which touch even those who are most insensitive to the charm of history.

Before reaching Trento, another obligatory stop is in Castel Beseno, an important fortified construction for the control of the Valle dell'Adige, south of Trento.

In the late afternoon you would reach the capital town of the Region, in time to go to the hotel and treat yourselves to an aperitif in the historical Trento town.

You can spend the morning of the next day visiting the Castello del Buonconsiglio, which keeps various cycles of frescoes (Romanino, Dossi, Fogolino and the Cycle of the Months of International Gothic Epoch), which hosts in its wide spaces prestigious art exhibitions. Be careful though: if you want to do some shopping, keep n mind that shops close on Saturday afternoon.

Trento is a town rich with antique frescoed palaces: treat yourselves to a little nose-up walk, and discover true recently restored “treasures”.

Art lovers mustn’t forget the Palazzo delle Albere – slightly outside the centre – the MART main building, a museum that houses important art exhibitions.

Livening up the evening and the following days is just a matter of choice: many cultural, musical, folklore, food, theatre events are part of the "Se in Trentino d'Estate" programme, a review involving museums, monuments and ancient towns in the whole region.
