In Italy there are quite a few cultural operators diplomas: among the many we would like to point out those offered by the university of Florence such as the "Telematic Diploma for Operator in the Arts ".
It is a specialisation which aims to provide a professional preparation to be able to carry out work as archivists, and experts of historical-artistic and archaeological heritage, using the new Satellite TV and Internet new technologies.
The course is for everyone who cannot attend the traditional university facilities, without renouncing study through satellite TV, public television, Internet, e-mail, Videoconferencing (ISDN), telephone.
Upon completion of the studies, which last for three years, the diploma is given. Courses are completely or partially acknowledged to continue the corresponding degree.
Exams are carried out at the University faculty in Florence and they are carried out by the teaching staff of the university itself. In the first year there are six teachings essential for the basic, the same for the three directions: Historical-Artistic, Archive and Archaeologic.
In total the exams to pass are 15, to which they match two brief didactic cycles and some practices on the net.
There is another interesting diploma at the University of Florence and that's the one for "Costume and fashion operator", which proposes to create professionals in the sector, particularly costume and fashion history, restoring and preservation experts, fashion planners, designers and model goldsmiths, technicians of clothing production and market, fashion accessories (from shoewear to jewels), fashion textiles and marketing.
Contrarily to the diploma for "Diploma for Arts Operator", attendance is compulsory, the duration of the course is 3 years and there is a fixed number.
