The Accademia delle Belle Arti in Carrara and the Municipality of Pietrasanta join forces to promote and organise theory and practice lessons to learn the artistic working of marble.The summer courses are held in the laboratories of the alternative location of the academy itself and at the Museo dei Bozzetti in Pietrasanta: each course lasts 20 days, for 5 hours a day and 100 hours overall of study - between drawing, sculpture, shaping and marble.
The master is open to those who wish to further their knowledge of the artistic working: teaching the notions and the various techniques, artists of International stature - supported by four teachers of the academy and with the presence of an assistant and one or more models.
During the course, also, there will be guided visits to laboratories and foundries, to marble quarries, cities of art in Tuscany and meetings with famous artists.
Enrolment to the master is open until the 31st May 2002, directly at the Academy's office, or at the Cultural Institutes of the Municipality of Pietrasanta. Or still, via the Internet, at the website of the Museo dei Bozzetti.
At the end of each course - for which a minimum of 12 participants is required, up to a maximum of 20/25 - an attendance certificate will be given. Cost for participation is 900 € per person per course.
