Forty students, especially forty young athletes who will no longer have to divide themselves between homework and training, between school and sport. They are those enrolled at the first sport scientific high school in Italy, "Pierre De Coubertin" in Genoa, recently opened.Hosting this school unique of its kind in Italy, is the "Don Bosco" institute in Sampierdarena, equipped with very modern sporting equipment distributed over an area of seven thousand square meters.
To be accepted at the high school it is necessary to be an athlete, registered at Coni and Fisd and undertake regular agonistic activities.
Every athlete-student will have a tutor, and will be able to take part regularly at training sessions; the study programme is organised on the basis of the kids' requirements with flexible schedules and maintaining direct contacts with agonistic societies.
In the new programme, as well as the compulsory minister's programmes, there will also be marketing courses, for sports communication, as well as periodical medical visits.
The High School will also be the only Italian school to be part of the International committee De Coubertin, associated to CIO.
