The custody and preservation of cultural heritage are felt today as a fundamental issue both as "resource" to draw from and as reappraisal of the territory we live in.
In this perspective, about ten years ago the Faculty for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage was born, which in its intentions aimed to create new professional figures who would be able to manage, with the necessary expertise, the structures meant to preserve, promote and develop cultural heritage.
The faculty, which in many universities is part of the Humanities (literature and philosophy) degree course, is divided in four departments: Architectural, Archaeological and Environmental; furniture and artistic; archived and library; musical.
Choosing the Faculty for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage presupposes a strong passion for everything that concerns the history of art, and it is necessary not to become awed by subjects that seem apparently irreconcilable with this passion (the much abused Latin or the irksome Romance philology), or by structural failings of our old universities.
The course of studies is articulated in 4 years, for a total of 24 exams as well as, naturally, the degree thesis.
